Why is my PS3 turns off after few seconds of turning it on

I haven't played my PS3 for about two years it was left in the cabinet then i tried to turn it on it does turn on leaving the green lights on and gets stuck there even when i press the off button but after maybe 30 seconds it automatically turns off it doesnt even show in the tv that it was on Please help badly needed i wanna play so bad
