Basically, our cat knocked over a bottle of vodka on the laptop in the middle of the night. The laptop was soaked. We dried it for a day and it won't turn on. My plan was to take out the harddrive and put it in an external shell to get the data off the computer. It ends up this model, harddrive is soldered to the mother board. Any ideas on how I can recover the data?

Sadly there is little you can do here. Hopefully you’ve been good with backing up your data in some manor (local external drive or iCloud).
If you have data that is very important on the system then you’ll need to get another exact same system (late 2016 13” MacBook Pro) which you can swap out the logic boards. Or, the other option is to use the Apple Customer Data Migration Tool (CDM) Here’s how its used This is Apple’s special tool to help customers recover data from the MacBook Pro’s non-removable SSD only the 2016 and 2017 models offer this ability and the logic board drive logic needs to be in working.
In both cases you need to use the same system to migrate your data to.
