My laptop won't turn on after locking itself from a low battery

Super confused right now. I asked my dad what to do about this and he told me to leave it for a day or two plugged up but I’m not convinced. It’s been plugged for the last 10 or so hours and I’ve just attempted to turn it on. The power button light turns on at the slightest touch and the lights at the bottom left all light up. I can hear a fan turning on, and then stopping and dying. This is better than it was several hours ago when the battery light at the bottom left was red (it’s now a sort of orange-ish colour) and the fan never whirred once. There is a little beep when it turns on, but nothing else happens and the screen stays off. This is the first time it’s happened with me and I’ve no idea what to do.

Disconnect the charger from the laptop and then remove the battery from the laptop.

Here’s the ifixit Lenovo B575-1450 Battery Replacement guide that shows how to remove the battery.

Press and hold the laptop power button operated for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

Reinsert the battery into the laptop

Plug in the charger and try to start the laptop.

Try to start the laptop.

If it starts a there may be a message about the date and time being incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset

Once it has been corrected it will not appear the next time that the laptop is started

Once the HDD activity has settled down check the charge status of the battery. If it is charging allow it to fully charge before disconnecting the charger from the laptop

Also create a Win 10 battery report to check the status of the battery.

Compare the design capacity versus the full charge capacity to get an idea of the state of the battery.
