Replacement battery from ifixit isn’t working

Hi, that was one of the first things I did and it looks fine. None of the gold points are damaged. It might just be the case that the battery I’ve been sent is 5 years old and defective.

@cooldude227 - Sure its possible! But the fact CoconutBattery is showing us the charger is connected just not charging, that's the charging logic within your system thats more likely suspect.

Are you using an Apple Charger and the cable that came with it? Apple did have a recall on the cable are you using the newer one?

@danj Didn’t the recall only apply to the 2015/2016 version? I’m still using the original Apple cable that it came with. Also, my old battery didn’t have any issues with charging. The coconut battery app is showing that the new battery is in poor condition.

I’m going to reconnect the old battery and see if I have any luck tomorrow. Hopefully I didn’t damage the logic board or battery connector port.

@cooldude227 - Think of it this way your car won't start what is the failure? Could be the lack of gas or it could be the fuel filter is clogged.

So you replace the fuel tank but the little bit of gas you had in the new tank is all you are seeing. So you assume the tank is bad. Not the fact the fuel filter is messed up.

Somehow we need to breakdown the problem so isolate what is failing.

I've put my old battery back in and it works just fine, Im getting another replacement battery from ifixit soon so I'll test that out and see if I have any luck.
