Which CCFL is needed for Aluminium iMac (Mid-2007) 24"?

Does anyone know what the size/specs of the CCFL are for the iMac (Mid-2007) 24” please? I suppose I could crack it open and have a look but would prefer not to before I’ve got a part on order.

I am assuming the CCFL is the defect.  The screen flickers like an old fluorescent tube would, now increasingly often. The iMac is working great generally (with max 5GB RAM and an SSD). The screen works just fine through MiniDVI too - but it’s just unwieldy for an iMac. The display flickering stops with a sharp tap of my hand on the Aluminium, and correct image restored… for a while. When it sticks as dark for a moment, the screen image is ‘visible’ when I shine a light on it, so I think that makes backlight most likely issue.

(Should I consider an LED alternative while I’m at it?)

Sorry, there is no LED backlight options here.

Sadly, just like your kitchens florescent light, the tubes breakdown from age and the inverter capacitors do as well.

Finding the CCFL tubes these days is very difficult as they have long since stopped being made, and to add to it cracking open the display assembly to get to them is not easy! Even getting to this point requires some soldering skills and luck!

The better way is replace the full display assembly 24” iMac Alu LCD, LM240WU2, Apple P/N 661-4431 and here’s the needed inverter 24” iMac Alu Inverter Board, Apple P/N 661-4685X which you should also change out.

Thanks very much for getting back to me. I guess I will have to weigh up the value of a ~£100 screen on a 13yr old iMac. Thankfully it’s been behaving reasonably well in last couple of weeks.
