Computer wont turn on, keyboard stopped working before. Liquid damage?

Hi everyone, I’ve been putting this off for about a month now because I’ve been so busy. I have a macbook air laptop from 2013. A while ago, I spilled one single drop of water on the trackpad- a small drop, nothing major, and after about 15 minutes this happened:

I was on a call with a friend, my

  • Mic stopped picking up my audio but I could still hear my friend,
  • Trackpad stopped responding to touch,
  • Keyboard stopped responding.
  • I powered off my computer by holding the power button for 10 seconds, and then I tried turning it back on (it was still connected to the magsafe charger.) The computer booted up, and I couldn’t type my password or use the trackpad to move the mouse.
  • It didn’t occur to me that liquid could have gotten inside the computer, which is why I turned it back on connected to the charger. It was very very little water, so the thought didn’t even cross my mind. After some research, I read that liquid damage could have occurred, so I dried my computer out to the best of my abilities.
  • Flash forward a few days, I try turning my computer back on, and nothing happened. I figured maybe the battery was dead from being disconnected. I plugged it in, the light on the charger turned orange. I pressed the power button and it flashed green momentarily.
  • I’ve tried resetting the SMC with the control option power, and the light on the charger would flash green.
  • I can’t hear any noise from my computer and I can’t turn it on. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do? I’m not very tech-savvy but I could use any sort of help- this laptop is my baby!!
  • Thanks in advance!

Well, I dropped my Macbook in a sink with a bowl full of water, so different situation, but when I took the back off I could see the water damage - white blotches of corrosion. Either way, a nearby Apple store will look at your Macbook and diagnose it for free. I took mine and they told me the water damage meant I needed a logicboard replacement and a new top case. I didn’t believe them on the top case because it looked fine to me. Since they quoted me about $400+ to fix it, I replaced the logicboard myself and the keyboard is fine, so I was right about the top case. They will tell you what it would cost to fix it and you can decide what to do from there. Just set up an appointment with the Genius Bar for a repair - you will only waste your time.
