Volume bar is at max but the volume is very low?

Have you made sure that all your sound levels are turned up? You need to make sure that the computer sound (adjustable via the keys on your Air) is turned up AND the volume of the application playing sound is also turned up. If those are both turned up try changing between speakers and different headphones to isolate if it's a speaker problem. If sound level varies greatly between head phones, a pair of headphones is likely broken. If headphones work fine but your Air speakers are still exceptionally quiet, you may have a loose connection or damaged speaker.
