Power cable works some days but not the others

One day the power cable stopped working & even resetting it didn’t help, so I put it away in storage. Few months later I figured I’d try it again & sure enough it worked all of a sudden, for a solid month. Then I stopped playing it for 2 weeks & the power cable doesn’t work anymore again. When it’s plugged it there’s no light on & when I hit reset it flashes green & red then turns off again. I think it’s cause of moisture or something but maybe I need a new cable? I don’t know what the issue is.
