MacBook Air not turning on, no MagSafe light

Hello all, I have a MacBook Air 13” mid 2012.

About a week ago, it stopped powering on, and I wouldn’t get a Green MagSafe light. I took it to Apple, and they told me that it is probably the MagSafe board, which would explain why I’m not getting a Green light.

The only thing is that I also don’t get anything when I press the power button without the cord plugged in, not even the no battery icon. My question is does this mean that the logic board is also dead, as well as the MagSafe board, or just one.

It’s not worth it to me to replace the entire logic board, but I have found a new MagSafe board for about 30 CAD with shipping on Ebay. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

Give this a shot. Unplug the mag-safe, unplug the battery from the logic board. Press and hold the power on button for ten seconds. Now reconnect the battery, then the mag-safe and see if you get a spontaneous reboot.

Next install and run Coconut Battery and post your results.

Just tried it. Unfortunately, nothing happened. Is it possible that I have a bad charger that fried the computer?

@gaussymousy - Can you post a snapshot of what CoconutBattery is showing 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기

@danj the computer doesn't turn on so I can't access coconut battery

@gaussymousy - It wasn't clear you were dead and cold ;-{

At this point I would inspect the MagSafe connector for dirt and make sure the connectors contacts (both sides) are in good shape. If you can try another charger.

@danj when I took it to apple they tried a different charger with no success. I cleaned off the port, but same thing. Does this mean I have a dead Magsafe board, logic board or both?

@gaussymousy - Sorry, I can't answer your question as I would need to do further testing to check things. I would use a volt meter to check the CD-In Board connections to make sure power was getting through. Basically, tracing out the power rails to see where things are failing.
