Playstation 5 Hard drive Question

I’m kind of curious about the PlayStation 5. I’ve done upgrades on a PS4 but the PS5 have an expansion slot as soon i remove the cover. Is there a way to remove the main drive or is it soldered into the motherboard?

No, the main drive will always be soldered to the board. If you want to add another SSD, it MUST be a PCI-E Gen4 drive with at least 5500 MB/s of rated sequential read speed. I recommend the WD SN850 or Samsung 980 Pro.
