Would it be ok to use a 64 gb motherboard in place of original 16 gb motherboard in an iPhone SE 2020?

Yes, and no. Yes if you can find a board with a paired button but there will be signs like the IMEI# on the SIM tray not matching, and issues getting the phone repaired through Apple. If the button doesn't match you will lose TouchID. In addition to that, you need to buy the right board (Ex: If you have a 16GB Unlocked phone, you need an Unlocked 64GB board).

Unless the price is right it's generally more trouble then it’s worth with the loss of official service options, True Tone and potentially TouchID.

Sell the phone, take the beating and buy a 64GB device with the board from day one factory unlocked - if you can afford it, 128GB.

Not totally accurate. There are many sellers who provide the original home button thats paired to the replacement logic board. I’ve done this swap on the iPhone 6 Plus twice already.

@andyh57292 Look at when I answered this. At the time I wrote this the boards and buttons weren't sold as a pair. As they wore out with time the option to do this opened up.

Fair point buddy

@andyh57292 Just making sure you knew why I answered this way. Time changed a lot since the pairing issue became well known enough they sell the button+board as a pair. It just took a few years.
