Will an older JDM-055 touchpad work with a JDM-050 motherboard?

I need to replace the touchpad on my dualshock 4 with the jdm-050 motherboard and have an older (1st revision) jds-055 parts controller, I compared both and there are significant differences between the 2 boards. I don’t want to risk damaging my DS4 so before I go swapping them, I figured I’d ask here 1st. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

****Update**** Upon further research, I came across a thread on this site where someone had stated that they are compatible. I took this information into consideration and swapped them only to find that they are not fully compatible. Clicking the touchpad did work however the ‘touch’ feature (sliding your finger across the pad) did not work at all. Hopefully this information will be useful to someone.
