Gyro control not working on Kirby Triple Deluxe.

I was able to get to play many games with minimal issues.. until I tried to play a Kirby game. At the second level of Kirby Triple Deluxe, I entered the second level of the game where you need to use gyro controls to control the water and thaw out the fire. Instead of controlling the water, I couldn't move. I checked the motion sensor calibration settings within the home menu, but it would either crash the 2ds or say it failed. Is there any way to fix this?
