In general, Windows product keys are labeled and attached to the owner's manual when bought new. PKs are not embedded in the computer. Registering a new computer requires inputting the product key along with personal information before a computer initiates the Windows operating system. If the PK is lost or misplaced, you may have to go online to Microsoft to retrieve your PK registered under your name. However, there are other methods but they're not legal if you search online.
I assume for Windows? Which version of Windows is it running? Was this a computer you bought recently? or one you've had for a while?
