Why is my laptop shutting down while I game and it’s plugged in?

I recently got a acer nitro 5 and have noticed that whenever I game and it’s plugged in it shuts down. When it’s unplugged it runs perfectly fine and nothing is wrong. I bought a new power supply and thought that would fix it but now i’m lost.
