Need help, my Imac stopped working mld use, initially whitce sceen, but when trying to rwboot pixels and intermittent numbers. No safe mode availableHave tried to fix..got install OS, but stalling

Do you have access to an external display which you can plug in via DVI port on the system. Does it look clean? If it does then you have a bad display assembly and/or the displays data cable. If the image is the same then the logic boards GPU logic has an issue.

Dan, I actually have no idea what version I have, so apologies for confusion caused, it’s an older model. Unsure if I can display externally sorry ?

@scosser73 if you can place here SERIAL NUMBER (will be somewhere on iMac - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201634 ) by this we will know what model you have :) - not sure if it's 5K as the installation is for El Capitan (if I remember right) :)
Have no idea where serial number is as nothing to be seen on exterior of case
@scosser73 - The S/N is on the bottom of the foot, you can plug it into here EveryMac - Lookup let us know what you have and then we can move forward!
