i dropped my phone and the whole thing doesn’t work anymore and i need my photos back. am i able to swap motherboards from my iphone 6s to another iphone 6s? and keep my photos?

Depends on what's wrong with your 6S. You said the whole thing doesn't work. But what exactly is it doing. Or not doing. Does it seem like it's powering on? If you plug it into a computer is it detected?
If yes to both of these questions then your chances are good.
If it doesn't seem like it's powering on, then you could still have success from transplanting it to a new housing. But it's less likely.

when i plug it in the display doesn’t work, though it is also falling off the phone, and the vibration motor doesn’t work either, but i haven’t tried plugging it into a computer yet.
@ohidooh are you getting other signs of life? Does it make any sort of noise? Some pictures my also help. You can edit them into your original question.
sorry i took absolutely forever to respond i forgot about this i will post some photos but the screen is falling off and i have tried plugging it into my macbook and it doesnt show up anywhere. is there any way i can take the photos off the motherboard or whatever??
@ohidooh, I’ll just continue on Alisha’s answer; You’ll at the very least need a new screen and battery. Replacing those parts on that phone is a simple job, and the parts aren’t very expensive either.
Once you’ve replaced the battery and screen (after opening the phone, first unplug battery before anything else), connect the device to a charger or computer to see if you now have any signs of life. Then reevaluate and let us know :)

Yes, you could, but you would have to transfer over the home button too because touch id will not work with a different home button.
