My screen's flickering after reseating the cables. Please help!

Yesterday I dropped my laptop, which then show nothing to the screen but worked fine on external monitor. I tried the trouble shooting steps provided by HP on Youtube (https://youtu.be/sj6kYmT7GLs) but it didn't help.

So today I disassemble it to reconnect the cable on both MB and the LCD screen, and now there are picture but it flickering like this https://youtu.be/55-FnF6MIvk.

I'm hoping to not replace the LCD because it not worth it. Thanks in advance.

Hi

Since the external monitor display is OK and that you have reseated the video cable (assuming that it is not damaged where it passes through the hinge to get from the motherboard to the LCD display) it's looking like a problem with the LCD panel.

What is the full model number of the laptop?

Hi, thanks for replying.

My laptop model is HP Pavilion 14-v022tu.

Also I want to add that it's not a Windows related issue because it flickering in BIOS too. And I'm not entirely sure if the cable is not damaged where it passes through the hinge or not. I'll check the cable again and keep you updated.

If the cable is faulty the part number is 767244-001

If it is the LCD display the part number is 763566-001

Usually the part number is on the component somewhere if you wish to verify.

Search online using the "part number only" to find suppliers that suit you best.

Update: it was the hinge. I unpluged the cable on from the MB, wiggle it around and replug it and it worked well now. Don't know how long it will last but I'm happy it wasn't the LCD. Thank Jayeff
