MacBook won’t start up!

My MacBook Pro Mid 2012 A1278 power button was not working however I was able to get it to start up by unplugging the battery and attaching the charger. I changed the keyboard & power button to try and rectify the issue but now the MacBook won’t turn on at all. The charger still appears to work and the green light is showing, I did however try and short the power pads and nothing has happened so I’m starting to think it’s logic board related.. I have noticed that the circled area in the attached image on the logic board gets very hot while the charger is in, perhaps this could be where the problem is? That is far as my current knowledge can take me at the moment, I would greatly appreciate any help to try and get it back working!

unfortunately, this sounds like a short circuit possibly caused by you taking the device apart

Would you recommend finding a new logic board? Will that be quicker/easier than finding and fixing the short circuit?

Follow this guide to disconnect the battery MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 배터리 교체 stopping at the end of Step 3.

Now with nothing connected with the system on its side so the battery connector is not crushed, press and hold the power button for a good 15 secs so the logic board is fully discharged. Now only plug in the MagSafe charger the system should spontaneously start and the MagSafe cords LED should start off Green and then go Amber and stay Amber.

Let the system fully startup, do a proper shutdown and now reconnect the battery. Leaving the system off is the MagSafe LED steady Green or Amber? If Amber leave it be for a good 10 hours at which point it should be Green. If it’s still Amber you need a new battery MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2009-Mid 2012) Battery
