Screen not working after replacement, no touch then all black.

My kid broke the screen on my t510 and I got a new one, replacement went well, powered on screen lit up and everything looked good so I put it back together. Once it was together, the touch screen wouldn't register anything. I did not think to check that before I reassembled, I thought it was good to go when it turned on. I took it back apart and noticed that the LCD ribbon cable had a small tear in it. Ordered an identical replacement, put it in, and now the screen is completely black. If I plug it in I can hear it make charging noises, but I can't get it to show anything. All connections seem to be fully seated. Have I missed something or is it just dead now?
