Restoring True Tone without original screen issue

I am trying to restore the True Tone function of an iPhone 11 Pro Max using JCIDRepair without the original screen. I’ve used the software before without issue.

When trying on this iPhone I receive the following message “please use J-Box to back up the original Color data of your phone to the cloud first”. I’ve tried running the program as admin, restarting my laptop, using different USB ports and cables, and resetting the phone.

Just wondering what the issue is and if there is a solution?

Thanks in advance

Have you used the software with an iPhone 11 series phone before?

Hi Andrew, yes I used it with an iPhone 11 this week and it worked without issue.

@callum3009, I have never used JCID, but in your picture: Did you read reminder 2?

It says iPhone 11 is OK, but 11 Pro and up needs original backed up to cloud, to work. This corresponds to the error you’re getting.

@geirandersen I was wondering about this, but I’m unsure how to back up the data to the cloud, I can’t seem to find a tutorial

@callum3009 I believe what they're saying is that with an 11 pro, you need to back up the original phone's data, so you need the original screen.

Hello Callum,

IOS 15.5 and above have encrypted battery and screen data. According to JC's manual for the V1SE model, you need to jailbreak the iPhone in JBox (or similar method) to decrypt the screen and battery numbers. Then connect the v1se and read the data (this is the only state of the iphone from which you can send the necessary numbers to their cloud. The instructions were written by a Chinese who probably knew English quite poorly :) I guess). After a while you will receive a new package with numbers directly to your v1se reader. This is the moment to transfer those numbers to iPhone without original screen and proceed with non-genuine TrueTone restore method. That's all. You can also unjailbreak. All changes remain. JBox costs about $100 and in my opinion is too much to have TrueTone. Jailbreaking manually is possible (confirmation needed, haven't tried it for lack of time).

let us know if you succeeded.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

The reason I asked was because I was replacing the cracked screen of an 11 pro max for a new one, and sold the cracked screen before the new one had arrived - no problem, I thought; as I’ve restored True Tone without the original screen before (how wrong I was).

By some change of fate, the person I sold the original cracked screen to has decided they want to return it.. so it looks like I will have the original screen back in my hands soon.

I am, however, intrigued by your suggested method of restoring True Tone and might give it a go. I’ll let you know if I do.

Many thanks

Hey man, have you tried the method mentioned in the comment above?
