My calculator has recently started rounding every number to one decimal place, whilst it used to come up with many digits because I need them for school. Even if I type a simple calculation such as 1 + 1 the answer comes up as 2.0 instead of just 2 like it used to

George, what brand and model number is your calculator? There are so many different ones on the market that it's impossible for us to give you a definitive answer without knowing which one you have.
That being said, many calculators have an option to fix the number of decimal places being displayed, and it appears that option has been turned on and set to one decimal place (you should be able to set it to any number of decimal places you want).
Tell us what you have and we can probably figure out how to turn it off.
