Wii U black screen and gamepad not connecting

Hello,

I was trying to go to the eShop to buy some games before the eShop shutdown. Before it launches, a system update is required. So I did the system update and was provided a error message. I don't recall the full details of the error message but to summarize, the update got interrupted somehow and it turn itself off. Now, whenever I power on the system, I am greeted with no Wii U logo screen and "no signal" screen from my TV. Essential a black screen. My gamepad is also having a "unable to connect to Wii u console" error message even though my gamepad is close to the console. I tried to sync my gamepad to my Wii u console but I need the tv screen to sync it. I feel this a software issue and not a hardware issue. Something is preventing HDMI from activating Im guessing. Is there any way of fixing this issue?

I did the exact same steps you did and now I have a Wii u with the exact same problem. I read that connecting a lan adapter to it would make it finish the update and get back to life but it didn't work for me.
I bought a raspberry pico and I'm waiting fot it so I will try this method : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14n5r1rR...

I had the same issue with mine recently. The Pico didn't help. So I ordered a used wiiu on ebay and when it arrived I paired my gamepad to it from my black screen wiiu. The black screen wiiu staus light turned red to yellow then red. Turned it on after and it fixed itself. Seems to be a error with the gamepad not syncing correctly. So if you can borrow a wiiu to pair the gamepad too try it. Hope this helps someone.

Yes, I also don't understand what you're describing here. I also have the "no signal" Wii U problem, and I can certainly borrow another Wii U if the method you're describing works.
