Why is my phone turning on and off but with no display? how can I fix

few weeks ago my phone screen would go black (with the backlight still remaining on) all while i was using it, but i use to be able to solve it by restarting the phone by holding down the power button but now it doesn't seem to work.

I woke up an hour ago to my phone having the black screen with the backlight on and I tried restarting it again but this time when i did the logo didn't show up and it was still stuck in black screen. i tried to stat it again holding the power button down with any o the volume buttons in different combinations hoping it would do something but now my phone is in this weird state.

1. the screen now would turn on and off from being completely off to being on but no display to back completely off (its like when u restart the phone and the screen is still technically black but there's backlight so you know its on.)
2. my phone is unresponsive even if I tried restating it again it wouldn't work but instead it would just go back like how I stated in part 1
3. I don't know if this is a battery issue because my phone was near fully charged when his happened today.
