MacOS notification for Monterey
This the 2nd time this has occurred -- first under Catalina, until I erased the drive. It kept the prompt at bay for months on end, but hit has since come back under Big Sur (I tried to stay at Catalina, but because of Adobe I had to). Apple calls this an "expected behavior" when it absolutely is not; if I can wipe out my hard drive to resolve the problem and it's only affecting my 2014 Retina, then this is not "expected" -- it is a deeper problem.
In the past when I tried to solve it even safe mode did not help; it just came back. Even SMC and NVRAM did not help. What it took to resolve under Catalina was a drive wipe, only to have it come back. Apparently, the workaround is to disable FaceTime which is kind of low.
Besides disabling FT, is there anything else I can do that does not compromise a built-in feature of these Macs? If it wasn't for the old machines being the preferred choice for 10 years, there would be fewer issues.
