The iPod Seventh Generation, marketed and sold as the "iPod Classic", was released in September 2009, and did not have any visible differences compared to the previous version. It simply replaced the previous 120GB iPod Classic 6.5 with a thin 160GB version.

@molina671169627 couple of things you want to check. First is of course teh cable. Make sure it works and has no corroded or bend contacts etc. Next try a different USB port on your computer and lastly your iPod battery has to have enough power for the iPod to turn on to be recognized by your computer. Let us know if this ia a Mac or Windows computer.

@oldturkey I have tried 3 different USB cables and 3 different ports and it does make that sound the computer does when you connect something but that's it. My computer is windows. Although, the battery is a little bit more than half full and that hasn't been a problem before, I'm going to charge it full and try again. Let's see....

@molina671169627 so you get the Device Connect sound. That means your computer knows something got plugged in (your iPod was detected) we'll have to see if something in the permission has changed or if this is an iTunes issue. See if your iPod shows up in Windows Explorer
