My camcorder keeps coming up with “DISC ERROR”

Hi i actually have a Sony Handycam, DCR DVD653E PAL, and it’s rather old because it used to be my parents. i have tried recording on two different discs and each time i insert them it comes up with “DISC ERROR”. I have wiped down the new DVDs to remove any dust, i have reset the handycam, and i have cleaned the lens. What should i do ??
