Why is my car stuttering when starting?

my car has about 170,000 miles on it and when I go to start it, it stutters for a bit before it starts. but this problem only occurs after the car hasn't been driven for more than 12 hours. if I start it after it sitting for only 1 or 2 hours it starts normally.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
