Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 was smoke damaged and wont turn on

Hello, my tablet was present in a house fire and since I've been unable to turn it on. There is no discernable damage on the outside or inside. Where is a good starting point to try and get this working? I have flies/media on the device that I'd like to try and recover.

Unfortunately some solder joints could of melted and shorted out killing it I’m afraid. I take it there’s no life from a charger either.

How do I check that? I have a multimeter. When I plug it in for a bit it heats up as if it's charging.
