I believe the issue you are facing is due to your SD card size.

You need to format it as FAT32, and any card above 32GB will be formatted as exFAT by default. For those cards, you need to use a tool such as FAT32 format (guiformat) : https://lecrabeinfo.net/telecharger/fat3...

So format the card as FAT32, extract/ copy all the files for OnionOS on that (FAT32) card, put it back in your Miyoo Mini (Plus), turn it ON, follow the set up on screen, (copy ROMs and BIOS files on the card only at that stage), and enjoy your new firmware

Dude, I'm also having that problem. Mine has stock firmware at 202305something so I've downloaded OnionOS 2,4-RC, formatted a SanDisk 64GB microsd as FAT32 using guiformat and all goes well during the installation of OnionOS. However, once the system reboots, I get Miyoo splash boot screen and the console freezes. I have already reformatted the microsd, copied the files over and went through the installation process but the same problem happened again.

Any clues what could be the issue?

You're on firmware 202303 update to 202306 wich is most current as of today. Also for the firmware update use a fat 32 32k cluster ruffus formatter sd card preferred a 32 or less one with only the firmware 306.img on it and plug it to one of your pc'cs usb ports(not front or extension ones) if u see a rocket let it do its thing until it reboots and shows charging then you can use your big SD card as fat 32 with the onion os in it. I'm on a 512gb card so any decent brand card will be fine for the OS
