I recently built a controller but it won't turn on. I'm new to soldering and feel like that may be the problem but nothing looks burnt up. I did feel a little warmth trying to turn the controller on, but I assumed that it might be leftover heat from the solder.

Hi I’m new to soldering to. Congrats on attempting a repair.
If nothing looks burnt I would check to make sure something isn’t bridged. A bridge would be when two points are touching each other. I’m not sure where you were soldering but that is what I would start with

Thank you, I'll look for a bridge. I just found out that the main board is working because I can hear the buzzing sound coming from it, but the light is not turning on.
