MacBook Pro Stuck on Apple Loading on Start-Up

Hi,

I dropped my laptop (closed) yesterday and it will no longer start up.

When I power it on, it shows the Apple logo and load bar but stalls out near the end.

So far I’ve been able to get to the disk utility screen, and ran first aid on all available items, no errors or issues shown.

Besides that I’ve already,

-Forced restart

-No external hardware attached/connected

-Reset PRAM/NVRAM

-Reset SMC

-Attempted to enter safe mode but it still stalls near end of load bar while Apple logo appears. EDIT- Trying safe mode brings me to a black screen where I see my cursor intermittently and also saw the login page showing safe boot in top right, but no where to enter my login password

While waiting for loading to finish I’ve also seen the following:

Screen changes and shows message “Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds to continue starting up.”

Also have seen the circle with a line through it.

Help?

Thanks I’m advance,

-L

Does your system still have a spinning drive (HDD) Vs a SSD?

It’s sounds like the drive got damaged in the fall. The head can jame it’s self into the platters killing the drive.

I would setup if you can from a second Mac system a bootable drive that you can then connect to your Mac to run a disk drive diagnostics and repair tool.

Sorry, forgot to include. A SSD was installed within the last 2 years.

I kept the HDD in case I ever had any need for it.

@lethal8911 - Time to see if that works. If it does that tells me the HDD SATA cable is damaged and needs replacing.

Install the HDD drive into MBP to see if it boots up, correct?

Edit, I think I misunderstood. Should I plug my existing HDD into MBP via USB and try to boot from that? If it works then the HDD SATA cable is damaged ajd need replacing?

@lethal8911 - I was hoping via USB or Thunderbolt, but if that’s not possible see if swapping out the SSD for the HDD. Here if the HDD works it’s the SATA cable as the data flow is slower with a HDD than a SSD.

Not able to pickup the proper cable tonight so I put the HDD into MBP and it works.

Am I assuming correct that this means my SSD is damaged?

If so, what’s the best way to pull repair to at least get the data off/onto a new drive?
