Why does my laptop screen go white while running?

Whenever I'm trying to play a video game or sometimes do anything at all, the main laptop screen will often just turn white. The second monitor I have doesn't have the error. I thought that it might have been overheating or the gpu was maxing out but its happened when all I've had open is discord.
