@samuelotuo there's a HDMI and a VGA port on the left side of your laptop. You can use either, depending on which one your external display supports. A more modern display will use HDMI, older displays will use VGA.
You can check for the ports on the display too. Match the port on the display to the port on the laptop and use the appropriate cable (HDMI/VGA) to connect the two.
