Upgrading my internal storage

I bought this macbook pro with only 128 gigs of storage, and i thought i would be able to hang in there with this, but at this point i'm struggling. Is there a way to have the storage in this upgraded, and is it doable by a non technician. I'm not computer illiterate and have worked on computers for years just not sure the correct way to look at going about this. Any help is appreciated.

The best you can do is getting an external USB-C SSD drive. Frankly, I mostly use one on my 2015 15” MacBook Pro’s. Where I have a 512GB SSD internally.
