Does the replacement battery in my MacBook worth the hassle?

I bought a second hand old retina Macbook Pro recently. The previous owner said it had got its battery replaced a bit more than a year ago. It is in fact only at 224 cycles, but it lasts for a pretty short time: only using a browser reading or watching youtube its max is a bit less than 2 hours (more about one and a half), but if I use a second monitor and get into heavier multitasking it lasts only for 30 minutes max. Long story short I basically got a desktop instead of a laptop...

I know it is an old machine so I should not expect the same performance when it was new, but the manufacture date of the battery is 2015 so I thought it could be mainly the fact that altough it is unused, it is still an old battery.
I was thinking about getting a new ifixit battery for my machine to make the laptop usable, because they are (I believe) higher quality and more recently manufactured compared to a random part from the webs.

If you have replaced the battery with the new one can you please share your experience about its usability? It would help me a lot making the decision.

I'd recommend reading some of the reviews posted below iFixit's sale page for that battery. One of them says:

"This was to do a second battery replacement on my 2014 retina MBP, the first one (purchased here about 4 years ago) never worked right and had the service battery icon with under 100 cycles. This one, immediately after performing calibration procedure, lasted almost 3 hours streaming HD video at full brightness, which is a massive improvement over the 30 minutes I got on the old one."

I think 3 hours is probably a safe estimate for the charge life of one of these from my experience. Not sure if that's worth it to you. Good luck!

@zpl - One of the problems you encounter is what is the person is running. Some expect more than what even the original battery was even able to!

What’s sad here is iFixit is very responsive and offers a much longer warranty than most.

As far as any third party battery it can be tough! There are good and bad makers, even the good ones can encounter problems. This was true during COVID as supplies were tight for he needed components.

The batteries I installed in my two 2015 15” MacBook Pro’s just before thing went wacky get 6~7 hours web browsing, writing and presenting.
