iMac turns on, black screen. Fan turns on and beeps

As title states, once iMac is plugged and turned on the fans turn on and makes "beeps". The screen is black and doesn't seem to turn on. No further testing has been done. I'm new to repairing Mac's in general, any help would be appreciated greatly!

Hi, @acharlesalmanza

Could you tell me how many beeps you are hearing during the power up sequence?

In addition, did something specific happen before this issue first started? Or did it just seem random?

This information would help further diagnose the issue.

Hello,

I only heard one beep of an interval of every five seconds. I'm starting to believe it's not detecting any RAM. I checked the area where the RAM is located and it looks to me that the access door is loosely "bulging out". I hope this helps

Have you visually inspected the RAM slots to make sure they are installed properly? One beep would either indicate that there is no RAM installed, or it is not being detected (maybe a faulty connection).

Would you be able to add photos to your original listing? Supply photos of the RAM slots as well as the access door that is "bulging out". Try to make them as clear as possible.

Here is a link on how you can do that: 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기

However, if you're sure RAM is installed properly, you can try resetting the SMC, and NVRAM on your Mac. Use the links below for instructions.

Reset SMC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Reset NVRAM: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063

If none of the previous steps work, it could be a faulty RAM stick. If there are 2 installed, try each one separately to check if one is bad.

Were you able to try out any of the other steps I suggested? Try running a single RAM stick as 1 is enough for the iMac to boot.

Is this new RAM that you purchased for the machine, and if so has it worked previously?

Yes, I tried to resest the SMC and NVRAM with no luck.

However, after trying one stick of RAM, it booted! Thank you, I never would have thought to do that. This RAM came with this iMac when I received it. Now, the iMac boots now with a black screen. Any Ideas?
