It might be the files got corrupted while trying to update the laptop software. Try having it boot up with an external usb drive with another version of windows in it and reset the laptop with that.

It can be repaired by usb drive or flash drive containing window that you want to install
It can be corrupt when you shut down your laptop when the screen is freezed it makes the laptop corrupt personally I have encountered this problem

It can be fixed by using a boot usb drive or flash drive that contains window that you want to install
I can be corrupt when you shut up the laptop in between a screen freeze or any software update btw I have encountered this problem
