Can I use a new 3ds xl joystick 4 pin connector on my new 2ds xl

I was taking apart my new 2ds xl to take out my broken bottom screen to put a new screen in and when I was putting it back together I was struggling to put the joystick ribbon cable back into the connector piece. I got frustrated with it and used to much force to put it in and broke the latch to it by accident.
