Is the audio in/audio out port replaceable on this model?

We have scratchy and bad audio, quality using various cables, with our MacBook Pro audio port. Is this part user replaceable?

Best,

Mark F

Wellโ€ฆ not really๐Ÿ˜–

Iโ€™ve marked the port here, itโ€™s a custom part sadly.

Did you try cleaning? Try using a oil free spray cleaner.

I kind of figured it was attached to the motherboard. After posting my question, I remembered I had some electrical contact cleaner. I gave it a gentle pod with a Q-tip, that was given a haircut, so as not to leave a bunch of fluff in the port. If that doesnโ€™t work, I will convince my better half that she should use the USB to audio adapter.

Have a great day and thank you for your reply.
