Roller Brush Only Works When Manually Started

When I push down my Shark Power Nozzle NZ801UKT hoover to start picking up the roller brush light comes on however does not rotate. If I push the rollers with my hand manually they will however start up. This is becoming a pain to do every time I want to pick up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be.
