Can you provide a guide to upgrade from 8 GB ram to 16 GB ram?

The RAM on these devices is not user upgradable. It's integrated into the main logic board. It's called unified memory because it's part of the same chip as the processor. In other words, to upgrade the RAM you would need to swap out the entire logic board with another logic board that already has 16 GB RAM. Sorry, I wish it was more modular!

Thank you for the clarification! I am torn on whether this computer with the M1 chip and 8 GB ram is sufficient for small-scale video-making. I have read different opinions and would be grateful for yours.
@kristenvog55610 I don't have a lot of experience using this model for video production, so I'm not totally sure myself. My guess is that it would work well in most cases, but that you might get a little lag or some slowness when editing longer HD videos. Good luck!
