No Audio/Video for one TV.

Having a problem getting an XBOX One S to connect to a Sony Bravia KDL-37M3000.  I have tried multiple HDMI cords and both HDMI ports.  There is no audio or video at all.  I have confirmed that the cables and the XBOX work on other TVs and monitors fine.  I have tried powering on one device and then the other and then in the opposite order, no change.  I tried powering on everything with the HDMI cable disconnected and then connecting once everything seems to be powered on.  No change.  I have disconnected both devices from the outlets overnight so there was no power at all, no change.  Doesn’t look like there are any software updates for the TV either.  Confirmed that ‘HDMI’ is set on the XBOX.  Haven’t tried to reset the XBOX One since it works everywhere else.  The weird thing, I have an XBOX 360 that works fine on this TV.  Thoughts??

Hi Dana!

First things first, how is the HDMI port? Please check that one first. If there is any damage there, then it wont show anything.

Could also be the Texas Instruments SN75DP159 HDMI retimer IC which is broken.

Both repairs requires soldering plus soldering skills and are not easy to replace.

Please let us know if the HDMI port is OK or not.

The HDMI ports seem to be fine on both the TV and the console. Bear in mind, my XBOX 360 works fine on the TV using the HDMI cable and the XBOX ONE S works fine on the other TVs in the house using a HDMI cable.

Ahh sorry. So the Xbox One S does work on other televisions? That is weird. Is the TV it's software up to date?? Can you share the brand and model of the TV which is having issues? Thanks!

Sony Bravia KDL-37M3000.

I checked and there doesn't seem to be any updates available.

It seems so strange that everything else seems okay and both devices have no problems communicating with everything else.

They just don't want to talk to each other.....

Best thing to do is to contact Sony and ask if they have any solution or whatsoever. Sorry!

No worries. Interesting update. I was able to get the XBOX One S to connect to the Sony using an old HDMI to RCA converter I had here. It connects but the video quality is poor. So to recap, I was able to get it connected using the AV connection on the TV, just not the HDMI. Someone suggested I try a HDMI hub. I connected both the XBOX One S and the XBOX 360 to the hub and then connected the hub to the HDMI1 port in the Sony. 360 connects, One S does not....
