Laptop battery not working ever after replacing

Hi my lenovo p14s gen battery stopped working some time ago all of a sudden and the only way I could use it by keeping the charger plugged in at all times. If I disconnected it then laptop would die out instant. I tried uninstalling the drivers but that didn't work. I also removed all the static charge by removing the battery and holding the power button but that did not work.

I ordered a new battery popped it in but the laptop still gives the error about battery not being detected. During the first boot laptop stayed on for hours but kept showing 100% charge even when disconnected. I tried turning on my laptop the next day and it's doing the same thing. Won't turn on without power cord connected and dies out instant when power removed.

I can't figure out what's going on. Any help please

Please check the ribbon cable of the battery and the connector on the motherboard

Hi

There is no ribbon cable. They're are just prongs which sit on a connector.

I assume Hamper was talking about a possible ribbon cable internal to the LT.

Insure that all prongs on the battery connector are not damaged.

Batteries do not normally stop "all of a sudden". They degrade and seemingly charge fast but do not run the LT for very long between charges. Then they just stop working

Detailed information about your battery is available in the Lenovo Vantage application, by clicking See Battery Details. Additionally, from the Windows PowerShell, terminal, or Command Prompt, you can use the powercfg /batteryreport command to generate a battery report. Follow the output path to find battery-report.
