I assume the controller wont charge anymore either? Sounds like the battery has moved on. Swap in a different known working battery. If that works AND it charges just fine...then there's the culprit. However if a different battery works but does NOT accept a charge....the issue is somewhere in the charge circuit on the controllers main board.

It does work but on the charger only
