Replacing reflective diffuser paper on vizio

I replaced the backlights on a vizio d70-f3 yesterday , this is my first time doing it. While trying to remove the diffuser paper that goes over the leds it got damaged really badly. I can't seem to find a replacement so I ordered a roll of PET diffuser paper and I'm going to try and make my own. I was curious if anyone has done this and if it would work okay ? Or if there was a better way of doing it ? Tia!
