Hi Dan,
It would help if we knew what you were trying to do. What's the resistor for? I ran across one thread where someone was talking about using a resistor to convert an AU model with an immobilizer to a US model without the immobilizer. Is that what you're trying to do, bypass an immobilizer? Here's the thread I ran across.
