Is the mic switch by-passable on the Sonos Arc Ultra?

I am interested in buying the Sonos Arc Ultra however I do not like that it is connected to the internet and could potentially be used as a spying device. Sonos added a physical mic-switch on this product so that it can be turned off, but has anyone verified it cannot be by-passed on the software side?
