Why won't my iPod charge or power on?
My Ipod sat around for a couple years in a drawer because I bought an Itouch. My boyfriend would like to use it now, but it will not charge or power on.

Jenny, if it worked before and it did not have any issues, I would start by replacing the battery. It most likely has discharged behold the threshold where you can charge it. Here is the guide. Just be careful when you pull up on the battery cable connector. It does have a tendency of breaking of the logic board. I personally use a paperclip bend into an L-Shape and hook it underneath the clip, then pull gently straight up. It is not a complicated thing to do. Hope this helps, good luck.
