I got my Xbox s last August and it stopped working in December it would turn on and I could hear the Home Screen with headphones in my controller but I can’t get a picture I’ve bought new hdmi cables but it doesn’t fix it would I be better replacing the part myself or taking it for repair?

It depends on how comfortable you are with soldering and disassembly. If you feel like you can do it yourself, go ahead! If not, there are plenty of repair shop that would be happy to fix it for you. If you plan to do it yourself here is the guide and here is the part (Or this part) you will need.
You also might need soldering tools.
If the kit linked is missing something just comment with what it is and i'll add it.

Thank you for the advice I do have a mini soldiering kit and micro tools but no kidding yesterday I plugged it in to see if the issue was still ongoing it was so I got mad and slapped the top casing on the Xbox and it started working again 😂😂
@kerr35832 Sometimes it just needs motivation. Glad it's working!
Could be a bad joint on the hdmi port connector on the board that needs reflowed and by banging it has knocked it back together. Whilst it's on, gently move the hdmi cable at the port. Don't go mad just tiny movements to see if the picture goes off again. The retimer chip could also be on its was out. Not something you could do at home unless you have a hot air station.

So little update I plugged my Xbox in to see if the issue was still ongoing and it was outs of frustration I slapped the top of my Xbox and it started working again I think I might be repair god
